The Dark Knight Rises is an amazing movie. I would recommend this movie to all ages above 13 who enjoy the thrill of action, suspense, and heroism. Although this movie may be quite graphic for some, it will keep you on your toes the whole time. When I saw it I was literally jumping; I’m serious. How the movie is portrayed makes the viewer feel like he in actually in the movie. You may not be a billionaire that fights crime, but you are the person behind the action helping create that sort thing to happen. Your intense viewing and participation throughout the film is what makes the Dark Knight Rises such a success.

I loved this movie because of the developing suspense throughout it. The feeling of suspense and intensity is really what captured my attention or any other viewer’s attention as well. During the scene in which the child of Ras-Al-Gu, the mercenary, holds the trigger that can blow the city to pieces as she has a knife dug into the soft flesh of Batman. This scene shows suspense, as Batman is constricted and the viewers watch as the daughter of the mercenary is about to blow up Gotham City to pieces. This part uses the cinematic aspect of close ups. The close ups affected the importance of the characters. It showed the reactions of Batman when he has a knife in his chest and he is struggling, trying to breathe with wide open eyes.

Another act of suspense in the movie is when Batman has to face the jump of his life to save his city from Bane and his evil army. He is trapped in this dark, sinister pit that is used as a prison. The only way out of this dark pit was to climb it and make the impossible jump as did the child of Ras-Al-Gu. It was said that there is always a light in the darkness that will prevail and make the darkness light, and that little piece of light is Batman. The feeling of suspense is seen by the viewer when Batman is going to climb the walls of the pit with no harness. Upon the final jump, fear comes upon him and the music begins to intensify, making the feel of suspense grow. The chant of the prisoners gets louder also with the music to show that how determined they are to see the light to come out of the darkness to save the world. The cinematic aspects such as the close up of Bruce Wayne’s face as he is about to jump for his life, show the fear in his eyes the determination to make the jump. This builds up the suspense of the scene. I think that the part of the scene with the greatest importance is when the music cuts off as he jumps to get on to the other ledge. He makes the jump and the prisoners cheer loudly with joy. This part of the movie shows how important suspense is to making the movie a thriller to watch.

Another aspect of the movie that felt, to me, like it made a great impact was the overall thought of being a multi-Billionaire who uses his money to save his city behind a black mask. How amazing would that be, to be a man that risks his life for his city. This aspect of bravery and selflessness is shown in the part of Batman vs. Bane in a one on one duel. Before them, the police and Banes army are fighting as well. During this scene in the movie the cinematic aspects show a close up shot of Batman and bane as they fight against each other. It shows how mad Batman is and how he wants Bane to be put to justice. As they fight, the music goes on in the background showing that this fights is a very important and suspenseful scene. They both struggle until Batman gets the upper hand to kick Bane into city hall. To end the scene, Batman makes an exception to his “never kill anyone” rule, as Bane has caused great amounts of destruction. He is about to kill Bane when the child of Ras-Al-Gu intervenes. This scene clear shows how amazing it is of being a selfless citizen who uses his money to save his city.

I love this movie and I would strongly recommend it to children over the age thirteen and love superheroes.  I would definitely watch this movie again because personally I love super heroes. I love super heroes because they show the act of bravery and the act of trustworthiness to help the people that are around them. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this movie a 10. I hope that you watch this movie with mindset of giving it a 10/10 as I did. Thank you and I hope you have fun watching the movie.
